Show Your Pride Ride with Mara and Jordan

Calling all LGBTQ folks and allies! Join the Elevated Alpine for a Pride Ride led by Jordan Garrett.

About this event

Show Your Pride Ride

6:00pm | Wednesday June 23 | Three Sisters Trail, Evergreen | Donation Based

Calling all LGBTQ folks and allies! Join the Elevated Alpine (@theelevatedalpine) for a Pride Ride led by Jordan Garrett (@shredthepatriarchy) and Mara Berde (@freeberde) on Wednesday, June 23 at 5:30pm at Three Sisters Trail in Evergreen.

The goal of this ride is to create a space that is welcoming to all, so it will be a no-drop ride and all levels of riders are welcome! Rainbow apparel is highly encouraged and prizes for best dressed! After the ride we'll gather for some post-ride drinks and snacks in the parking lot, so bring some cold bevies and a camp chair.

Since Pride Month is about more than just rainbows and parades, we're asking for a minimum of $10 donation to One Colorado, the state's leading advocacy organization dedicated to advancing equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) Coloradans and their families. Read more about One Colorado here.

Jordan Garrett (she/her) spends her days talking about bikes and skis at evo in Denver where she works as a ski bootfitter and bike salesperson. Before and after work, and on her days off, she can be found on her bike or skis -- exploring the local trails, summiting mountains, and everything in between. She's a proud member of the Colorowdies mountain bike crew and loves meeting people who share her passions for biking and skiing.

Mara Berde (she/her) started mountain biking at the wise age of 33 years old. It quickly became a passion and she loves sharing it with newer riders, especially women and queer folks. Mara spends her days working at a human rights non-profit and her weekends in the mountains. She loves Costco, coffee, and cooking, and lives in Lakewood with her fiancé, Jordan.

Three Sisters Trail is an intermediate / difficult trail. Details on MTB Project here.

The Elevated Alpine Enduro Skills Clinic with BMA

Join The Elevated Alpine and BMA for a 2-part women's only enduro skills clinic on June 22nd & 29th.

About this event

Join The Elevated Alpine and BMA skills coaches, Kelsey Wisinski and Rafael Guevara, for a 2-part women's only enduro skills clinic.

Tuesdays 5:30-7:30pm | June 22nd & 29th | 22nd @ Valmont Bike Park & 20@ Floyd Hill

The first session of the clinic will focus on the fundamentals such as cornering at high and low speed, wheel lifts while climbing, and body positioning for technical descents. For those getting into enduro racing, we'll also cover how to prep for a race, what to pack day of, and how to pace yourself for an epic finish. For our second session, we'll head to Floyd Hill to tackle more complex terrain to apply and refine what was learned at Valmont.

The Boulder Mountainbike Alliance’s mission is to serve as a positive voice for mountain biking in the greater Boulder Colorado area by improving the trail experience for all users through group rides and events, advocacy, and trail building.

This clinic is designed for intermediate racers looking to advance their skills to the next level. Riders should feel comfortable riding technical terrain. Although there will be some enduro focused content, you do not need to be signed up for a race to participate in this clinic.

By signing up for this Skills Clinic, you agree to the Boulder Mountainbike Alliance's Waiver. All participants are required to sign the waiver here.

The Elevated Alpine BIPOC & LGBTQ Enduro Race Scholarship sponsored by Specialized

Enduro racing has traditionally been very male and very white. The Elevated Alpine wants to see that change and is committed to doing our small part to change this landscape of racing. In partnership with Specialized, we are offering (2) Enduro Race Scholarships for individuals that identify as BIPOC and/or LGBTQ.

This scholarship provides recipients a spot at The Elevated Alpine Enduro Skills Clinic with BMA. Applicants do not need to have prior race experience and riders of all abilities are encouraged to apply. To apply, tell us about yourself and why you want this scholarship here.

Juneteenth Virtual Ride: Supporting & appreciating the achievements of the Black community

Juneteenth commemorates the day — June 19, 1865 — when enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, learned from Union soldiers that the Emancipation Proclamation had been signed, thus abolishing slavery in the state of Texas.

On your ride Saturday, we encourage you to recognize the achievements of the Black community, while also self reflecting on the systemic injustices that our society still faces today.

Cycling is no exception. There are endless amazing black individuals to celebrate in biking today. But cycling also has a long way to go to give the Black community the space they so deserve in this sport.

Today, we welcome you to show your appreciation and support.

Ride any distance. Ride any bike. Ride anywhere. And reflect.

Show your support and appreciation by joining this virtual event and hashtag your ride #JuneteenthRide
